S2000 OR FD RX7? which one is better?
hey whats up guys., i have an s2000., 01 silverstone.., been had it for awhile., the only bad thing is it has an r title. now someone has offered to trade me a 93 rx7 r1., 12 second car straight up for my s2., it has a clean title....any feed back would be real nice from you guys and do let the arguments begin. so bottome line., is it worth the trade or not?
Your S2000 has more value. You should get some cash back. You're trading for a car that is ~7yrs older. Plus, that engine isn't as reliable as the F20c and it'll blow sooner or.......sooner. I wouldn't do it.
you have to remember that you're trading your car for one that's two times older. But if you're really into speed and have the money to fix all the trouble, then go for it. Other than that, stick with the s
Probably need some more info on the FD's condition and mods. In good condition, those are worth more than your car and have already depreciated as much as they are going to...while I'm not sure we've reached rock bottom on the ap1 yet.
As mentioned...the FD will not be very reliable. It will be more expensive to maintain. You had better be a decent wrench or be good friends with one or you'll be paying quite a bit in repairs/maint. Also better have a daily driver as a back up.
Personally, I love the FD...still the best looking car Japan ever made IMO (the NSX and then S2k close behind). I put many miles on a stock one when they were new...amazing car. If they were still bringing them to the US when I was car shopping 6 yrs ago, I would have bought it in a heart beat over the stook.

As of right now, I'm finishing up school and I need a fairly reliable car and a S fits the bill... But once out of school I think with the S as my backup I may look into getting a FD

FD3
Pros: Cool looking, light, well balanced, quick, turbo, Revs, Rotary
Cons: Reliability, Expensive maintenance, difficult to work on, Rotary
To me the S2000 has every pro the FD has (except rotary) without the cons. I would get an FD3 if It was my second/weekend/toy car.
I say keep the S2000.
