Barely. I think it is pretty safe to say if Mazda didn't produce the Miata (and do as well as they have done with it) the S2000 would have never existed. Honda has been too complacent with the NSX as far as I'm concerned and probably won't put out a new one until another Japanese carmaker puts out a supercar of their own. Honda is a counter puncher not an aggressor when it comes to new models. I guess as a business strategy it has allowed them to be very stable but I would like to see them put it on the line occasionally.

Because I am not gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Actually, I never knew about the "Miata driver = gay" thing until a friend of mine made a comment about another friend who had a Miata. He was just joking around, but I was like "really? That's the sterotype?"

Apparently it is. I must say the first person I saw driving a Miata had a rainbow bumpersticker. But then, at that time I was living in the gay neighborhood, so the deck was stacked.

A gay friend of mine once told me "If he's driving a red convertible, he's gay". He was talking specificaly about a VW Cabriolet, but I hadn't considered that statement when I bought my NFR s2k.

I wonder what my wife thinks? ....

ricers only driving FF cars then buying an S for cheap might equal a few crashes.

I know I had to remind myself a few times "The power is coming from the rear"

Unfortunately this car is now cheap enough for anybody to own.
Yes the price of the S2000 are going down in price. I've seen some in my areas as low as $17500 (non-salvage titles), but think of the insurance for these teenyboopers buying these cars. I mean, i'm 26 and my insurance is around $180/mo. Thiink about what these ricers would be paying

to tell you the truth.......the Miata was the reason I was sold on the s2000. My cousin owns a 2000 miata (no he is not gay) and every time he came over on the weekends we would switch cars (i drove an 02 civic Si) and I just fell in love with the whole roadster feel. I had driven my friends 00' s2000 before that also and I finally said I NEED a roadster ASAP and I wanted to stick to Honda and plus the 9k redline , so I went and test drove a few and ended up with my 01'

After all the STI's, wrx's, mustangs, boxters, assorted ricemobiles get smoked enough times, the S2k will be well known as a car to respect. there is nothing better for the price.
