I completely agree, the soft-top strikers or frame never rattled on my Miata and I never had a clutch buzz in it that was considered normal either. Then again the Miata's performance envelope was smaller in just about every direction, It's a trade off I've gladly made.

 

Quite frankly, I couldn't give a toss what anyone else thought of me when I'm in a car, be it a Ferrari, Porsche, Honda, Fiat, Hyundai, Model T...

Why would a strangers opinion on your car matter? I don't give a squirt of piss what anyone thinks about my cars or bikes from the Honda( always owned a ragtop) to my Turbo Busa. Every car has been mocked. The Corvette (plastic date bait) ,Porsche(penis replacement), Ferrari(little pee pee) and so on. If a strangers opinion matters time to go have some work done on your egos.

PS. As for Ricers not being able to afford this ,WTF ? They buy and spend more on the picnic table wings and stickers and NOS than the price point on the S2000.

 

exactly what wfo said, they spend more money on their riced out cars then probably 70% of the members on this board or HONDA STUPID TECH"S JDMers have. So why are we assuming that the ricers can NOW afford it due to the fact it is cheaper. I wouldn't take any bets on your father being incorrect. From the few picture posts I've seen here of other "meets," he is dead on.

I am tempted to keep up to date on get togethers in my area just so I know what cities/roads to avoid around that time and not be mistakenly lumped in with a bunch of baggy clothed, spikey haired, loud mouthed, flamboyant little kiddies.

 

Its really sad that S2k's are getting cheaper now, I know, I know..but just the other day i saw a red S2k with a "Type R" logo on the trunk and has a big ass Black VTEC logo on the side of his car, which looked like it came from the 03 Si . I just shook my head and drove away. Nothin we can do about that, I guess we just have to repect each persons taste , no matter how bad it may be. On a brighter side those pre 97 NSX's are getting more affordable , Ill wait for few more years and get my hands on a 97
