What an idiot. You just have to love American car's salesmen, they put down every kind of import because they are usually ignorant to the point where you want to choke them everytime they open their mouths and spew out misinformed information about import cars. Looks like I have to buy a Solstice now

I was at a Nissan dealer when the 350Z came out. The sales guy swore it was the next great car ever and that he was buying two. One to drive and one to just keep in the garage and sell at a profit years from then b/c they were guaranteed to go up in value. I hope nobody takes any stock tips from that guy. I wanted to tell him that he'd be in the hole the second he drove off the lot but decided not to argue. It's not like they'd admit defeat anyway. I had a car dealer call a car I own crap one time b/c I told him the one he had on the lot wasn't any good.

"IMO the Solstice has enough to worry about with the Miata. However the big point of difference b/t a Solstice and the S2000 is (can be) $10K cheaper, that'll buy a lot of tacos "

Once you add all the options to the Solstice that the S2000 has standard (ABS, air conditioning, leather seats, power windows/locks, etc) the price is much closer to 5,000 less and you still have 70 HP less, no power roof or Honda reliability.

I am reminded of all those S2000 salesmen who have sworn on a stack of bibles that "THIS WILL BE THE LAST YEAR THE S2000 IS MADE?"

He's CAR SALESMAN. Need I say more?

I would have walked out upon the use of the word "puppy".

Truth is, most GM loyalist will believe this crap, so it will probably work for this guy. It is kind of a strange pattern GM has of coming late to the party (Miata-Solstice, PT Cruiser-HHR, Civic-Cobalt/ION, Accord-Lucerne) getting good initial sales numbers, pissing themselves with optimism, ramping up production, and then handing out incentives when the lot ends up full of them (GTO, SSR). They keep bringing too-little to the table too-late. The Solstice is almost as good as the Miata (the S does not have any place in the discussion), just as the Cobalt is almost as good as the Civic (long-term reliability not being an issue, as I have already heard of drivetrain issues with the Solstice), and the majority of the people that will get this car are the idiots that have been waiting for GM to build a Miata because their outdated loyalty has kept them from buying an outstanding product that has been on the road for the last 16 years, simply because it is not American, arrrrrrrgh! Other than the Vette (world class numbers for $50k) I can't think of one other product GM does better than anybody else. If this product has legs for sales outside of the GM lovers I will be very surprised.

I don't think I used the word idiots enough, idiots, idiots, idiots, idiots, idiots, idiots, idiots.

Another fine example of a know-nothing car salesman.

A cars sales man once told me that 2005 was going to be the last year they make this car.

I don't know but there is something about ignorant retarded assholes that makes me want to punch them in the jugular
HAHAHAHAHA. but oh, how true.

i love it when salesman walk up to me upon my arrival in a dealership, looking like they are ready to give me a valuable lesson in automotive knowledge. 99.999% of the times they speak with their heads so deep up their ass that i cannot even start to comment/argue to what the hell they're saying.

it's depressing really, very depressing.

my friend took this pontiac salesman for a ride in his STi, cuz the salesman swore that the GTO is a handling machine while the STi is only good for straightline. the result.....yea.

as quoted, u should have taken that door knob for a ride and scare that living sh*t out of him
