s2000 is heavy....
Out of your F-ing mind getting under any car without jackstands, and proper ones as well. Lesson learned and your right this thread might help prevent some other fool from getting hurt or killed. I didnt think people really did this, guess I was wrong.
At least two jackstands.
Wheel chocks.
Ebrake.
Left in gear.
The jacks are there, just in case it falls off the jackstands.
Cell phone at the ready.
I try to rock the car to see if it's stable before getting underneath.

I'm glad to hear you're okay. There are others that aren't as fortunate as you. I really hope you learned your lesson and others learn through your experience. Also, don't just place the jackstand underneath the car, and still have the car's weight on the floor jack. The floor jack is just for lifting the vehicle, if you're going to be underneath the car make sure that you rest the car on the jackstand. If you don't the floor jack can still break and the could bounce or slip off the jackstand if it wasn't already resting on it.
For the person who uses the scissor jack that comes with the car to lift the vehicle and go under the car, please invest on a decent 2 ton hydraulic floor jack. Those scissor jacks aren't very stable and are only meant to be used during an emergency while replacing a tire, not to lift the vehicle to work underneath it.
The time you save by not using the jackstands properly and money you save by not using the proper equipment is not worth the injury you could get or even worse, the life you lose...Just my 2 pennies worth.
BTW mikes256, those are OSHA approved "truck props"
