Like everyone has said any extra weight is noticable in a standard car. 90% of the time it's just me in my car so that's great, the rest I have a passenger and it's noticable but does it change the fun from the car? Not for me as you just change the driving style slightly to suit it

I can confirm this. My buddy is about 300 pounds (big little guy) and we were going to grab food together. On the drive to I didn't feel much of a difference with him in the car. However, once we ordered I knew it was going to be bad. He got a half pounder with a large fries and man let me tell you, it all disappeared before I could finish half of my meal. On the drive back, I noticed a huge difference, car felt very sluggish. Made me miss my BMW's torque

When i got to the garage and every one left i looked under the hood and everything was normal. So i went for a spin alone and i gotta say it felt like a train. Its a night and day difference. I was glad to know the car is just fine.lol.......anyone else have a similar experience or notice a difference with a heavy passenger? I guess thats one downside of having no torque.
So you are meaning to tell me that you feel like you have no torque in your 461 whp S2000 and that on a simple higher speed highway pull (where weight matters the least) you felt the difference of 250 lbs. I find that very hard to believe.

I've had 2 instructors over 300 lbs before at the track. Honestly, maybe my butt dyno was off a bit, but I really didn't feel much of a difference between them in or out of the car. My lap times did not greatly improve either. Just goes to show that unless you're consistently nailing the fastest lap times, that your driving skill masks all other performance inhibitors. I think I was more confident with them in the car, and once they got out I dialed it back a bit.

I weigh 240lbs myself; a larger passenger has never been hugely noticeable and sometimes the additional ballast can be helpful.

I person who really notices how their car responds could notice the extra weight for sure. But, for it to "ruin" you drive? Come on.....

nice to see freedom of speech prevailing and this thread continues on.

On the way to the Dragon meet in 2015 my car was loaded with supplies, the trunk was full and the passenger side of interior was partially full. Once I got to the destination and unloaded all of my "stuff" the car felt much better in the corners. I estimate all of my supplies weighed about 120 lbs. max.

I imagine you had about 105-110 in the cabin with you and around 5-10lbs of parts in the trunk. I've run with the same configuration before

Well I was travelling alone. This was the longest trip I've ever taken the S2000 (4,000 km trip) and I took all sorts of tools and spare parts just in case I had a break-down along the trip, plus food and clothing. I also had some parts to sell during the trip. It was bit of over-kill, I'll definitely pack lighter next time.
