S2000 Insurance Rates
Again, this depends on where you live, how old you are, what kind of record you have, male or female, married or not etc. etc.. That said here is where I lay.
I was with Nationwide and out of the blue these Aholes bumped my insurance up $50 a month!! They said this was just a standard rate increase across the board. So when I added my S2000 last month my insurance totals came to
$443/mo!!! That's for full coverage on a 1999 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Extracab and the 2001 S2000.
NOW, get this!! I am turning 27 this year and the accident I had 3 years ago comes off this month. So, with no tickets or accidents I am switching insurance companies. My new insurance company is Farmers. They are giving me better coverage and guess what my monthly payments are for both vehicles??? Give up?? That's right....$175/mo!!!
My Insurance is going down by $275/mo! If I were anyone here going through Nationwide I would highly recommend leaving them. Any insurance company that raises your rates by $500 a year and calls it a standard rate increase is a filthy crook.

I'm 24 and pay $1250 per year with $500 collision and $100 comp. Comparing insurance rates is like comparing apples to oranges. It depends on where you, your record, the record of others in the same dwelling. If you have other policies with them. You can get a 1 million dollar umbrella policy if you include your house and all your vehicles and saves you some money. There are also other discounts if you belong to a credit union or maybe through work. Prices can vary a great deal from company to company.
This is not s2k related, but still deals with insurance. Back in '98 I was looking at getting a Honda CBR600F3 motorcycle. I called progressive for a quote (they are the largest nationwide motorcycle insurance company) and was told $7,000 per year. The bike out the door would be less than $6,700. If I had the bike, did not have insurance and it was stolen every year. I would save over $300 and get a new bike every year. I called State Farm for insurance for a larger displacement bike that costs more, but still the same style; sportbike. Costs less than $1,000 per year, have lower deductibles and better all around insurance.
Moral is, if you think you pay too much call around. You could save yourself hundreds of dollars per year for less than an hour of your time.

Im in Illinois, I pay $450 every 6 mos...(my '91 Lotus was $250 every 6 mos). I use Allstate w/best coverage avail... No tickets/accidents, but most of our insurance is thru Allstate, and our broker was the maid of honor at our wedding... heh I thought she was robbing me until I read the other posts.
Holy cow. Well, at least this will be an interesting thread for viewing the history of insurance costs for the S2000.
This thread is from 2001. It's pretty ancient by anyone's standards.

I'm 22 with 7 years driving experience, i'm a male, not married and with only one ticket for speeding (10km over ). I just started this policy up about 4 months ago too. I pay 290.00 a month with full coverage and with a 500 deductible for everything. I've also have all of the other insurance features too like, rent a car, glass repair, etc.. I'm with BelAirDirect. Also I'm from Ontario, Canada where insurance is the highest in Canada.
I hope this helps!
