S2000 Living
What is this scortching heat you speak of? My brain is too fried to recall.
Anyway, I was born here so that may be why it doesn't bother me at all. And not having to store my car for the winter (and being able to stay topless) is even more of a reason to own one down here. You gotta explore the countryside of Florida a bit more to enjoy it. It may not have the elevation/hills as other states, but there are a small handfull of good roads out here.

The Clermont,FL Area has tons of twisties(561, sugarloaf mt, 455) not to mention cruising lakeshore scenic route during sunset.(road was in the Movie The Waterboy when he drives his lawnmower down it)

Sunny Florida. Year round top down driving with the exception of hurricane season.
Plenty of back-country twisty roads as well.

I've never seen good twisties without elevation! I have friends in Tampa...there is exactly one good curve in the entire city...it's a cloverleaf!

Whoaaaa. Must disagree!!! I moved here from SoCal and [South] FL is definitely not a great place to enjoy the S if you like twisties. Very Flat, straight roads = disappointing. However, it doesn't get cold or snow, so it isn't too bad
As for owning an S2000 in the deep south...it's great in winter but sucks from May-September due to the 90 degree + weather and sauna like humidity. Sticking to the leather seats is not my idea of good top down weather...and then you have the daily thunderstorms.
I've traveled around most of the eastern US with my job in the past 9 years and these states are the best conditions for S2000 ownership, in order...
1. North Carolina (particularly from Charlotte WEST to the TN border)
2. Eastern TN
3. Northern Georgia
4. Virginia (half of the state is in the mountains)
5. West Virginia
6. Kentucky
These states all have excellent mountains and/or backroads, low traffic if you are not in a major metro area, mild winters and reasonable summers means there are only a couple days a year unfavorable to S2000 driving and only a month or 2 of weather too chilly for top down. Also with the exception of parts of WV...these states don't spread much if any road salt in the winter.

I live in Birmingham, AL ... can't really complain. We hardly ever get snow or ice, we just have to deal with brutal summers. You can ride with the top down year round. We have great roads also, this road is 5 miles from my house:
I'm also only 210 miles from Deals Gap which I have ridden my sportbike to. Hopefully I can take the S one day.

Nice road...cagers really ruin the fun, eh?
How do you like the FZR? I have a 2006 FZ6-S, love my Yamaha.
Here is part of my daily commute. In this video I was in my 2001 Honda Prelude...speeds ranged from 55-75 mph. If I get behind one vehicle on my commute it's a bad morning!

But no, that was not me in the video. I have a Suzuki RF900R that I rode to The Dragon on. I used to ride my bike in to work on some local backroads like in your video. After cooking it really good for about 2 weeks straight I started noticing cops patrolling the road at 6:30am in the morning
. I'm guessing somebody called on me ... "every morning when I go to get my paper some crotch rocket comes by at a buck thirty." Oops.

I have never seen a cop during my morning commute, but have passed a sherrif or 2 in the evenings, fortunately going fairly slow. If I were to pass one going the oposite direction as me all I would have to do is continue my normal pace and by the time he got turned around I would already be at my destination, likely pulled inside the garage. :hide:
No doubt there are lots of great places to enjoy these cars. I'm in the Sierra Foothills between Sacramento and Tahoe in Northern CA. Pretty much every time I get behind the wheel it's twisty roads. The Summer can get hot for a few weeks and we see a couple days per year of snow, but outside that it's great weather and roads.
