Lower your S2000 or do anything to the suspension? I recently read a couple of magazine articles. Yes, the one on the Comptech supercharger was included. But, something else caught my eye. People are doing mods on suspension and wheel/tire sizes. It sure looks cool but from what I read lap times were down with the mods. In fact, one writer said that the S2000 responds poorly to being lowered and performed best with the original wheels and tires.

It depends on how they modify the suspension. There are various forms, cut springs with stock shocks, aftermarket springs with stock shocks, springs with unmatched shocks, coilover (sleeve only) with or without a change in shocks, full coilovers (with matching shocks and adjustability). There's a lot of tuning involved and choices to make. It's very possible to make it handle worse, but I wouldn't make a blanket statement to say all mods to suspension will decrease performance. Lighter wheels can have a positive effect on acceleration and cornering. I wider rim with the right tire can add more grip. Again, it's possible to hurt performance, but it can also add to performance as well. I would say if you know what you're doing then it's a good idea to upgrade the suspension. Since I don't, I won't.
