What about springs???
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this, but here goes. I was wondering if there is a brand of springs out there that will work well with the stock shocks. The majority of people tell me that unless you get good coilovers, DO NOT TOUCH THE SUSPENSION since it will thro off the balance of the car? Is this totally true. I recently purchased 17inch Volks and would like to reduce the fender gap and at the same time improve handling if I can. I just don't want to hurt handling or even worse, mess up the Honda suspension.
Kekoa,
I have the Comptech coil overs...which works with the stock shocks.
I have run the car at the Texas World Speedway...and the car is fine. I feel that whatever the "disturbance" I have caused is insignificant...when you are out there on the track...it is all driver. My instructor was driving my car, and was passing plenty of stock s2000's and even s2000's with r compound tires on.
Take warning though...I woudn't drop the car lower than a tight 2 finger gap between the tire tread and the top fender. If you lower the car too much on the stock shocks...you will have negative effects on performance.
This is how low I have had the car for the longest time (tight 2 finger gap in rear)...and it feels fine on the track:

We carry Eibach and H and R that work fine with the OE dampers. The Eibach will drop the car 1" front and rear and the H and R will drop the car about 3/4" front and rear. Both of the springs ar progressive rate springs and will take away the dive on braking and the squating on acceleration.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
