you guys are all wrong. They're made in the same factory as the Chevy Malibu (the MAXX of course, I'm not crazy)...

Don't tell me you can't tell the similarity?

they do, but i think its cheaper if you buy it in the u.s and the us currency is dropping too. so thats why people wanna buy it in the u.s rather than canada.
Cheaper yes, but Honda Canada will not warranty cars sold in the US and then imported to Canada. A used car out of warranty would be fine.

Nope. Same color schemes..

They're far far far cheaper in the USA... $34,050USD vs $50,300CDN

At an exchange rate of about 1.13cdn -> 1.00usd, it's nearly twelve grand cheaper to buy in the USA.

Yes, you'll get stung with 6.1% duty, you will also have to pay PST & GST, pay a $209 RIV registration fee, $100 A/C excise tax, then get daytime-running lights installed ($100ish), get it provincially ($70) and federally inspected (included in RIV fee), and you'll be good to go.

I'll be doing this myself soon, too. A Suzuka '02-03 please =)

you're wrong

All s2000 are made in Japan. Around May/June 2004 they changed which factory in Japan they were made in but every s2000 is made in Japan.
That is correct. The AP1's model were built in Tochigi, Japan, and I believe the AP2's were built in Suzuka, Japan when the Tochigi plant was turned into a research facility. Source.

Well, the S2000 is not and cannot be made in USA. It isnt full of plastic, it handles well. The engine is efficient.....need I go on? Sounds harsh, but american cars arn't that good are they? No, S2K is pure Japanese. They really know how to make a car

Hey guys, thanks for all the feedback. I was hoping I could aviod the 6.1% duty, but even after that, I will be saving quite a bit instead of buying from Canada.
