I recently totalled my daily driver in a accident with a school bus. So it was time to shop. I looked at several cars but narrowed it down to the Protege5 and Focus ZX3.

I pulled into the Mazda dealership and parked. All the salesman came to the giant windows and were checking my black beauty out.

When I entered the building to see the sales person I spoke with on the phone about 3 other sales people went out to take a look at it.

All had nothing but complimentary things to say and asked a bunch of questions.

We went for a test ride in the Protege5 and I liked it... its a very sporty looking car with a lot of extras standard, its also peppy in its 5 speed trim.

So we worked out the numbers and I'll be picking it up at the end of the week.

As I was walking out the manager asked to look at the Stook. I obliged although I was tired (2 hours ion the showroom haggling) He has a supercharged miata.

He then asked for a ride and I could not resist. I got the rear end loose coming out of the dealership and redlined the first 3 gears for him. Needless to say he was amazed at the power form our car and how solid the chassis felt.

I then make a u-turn to head back and figure I would show off the brakes for him. He said turn in here (as I was going 80) I said ok then he said HERE!!!! and I slammed on the brakes only to make the entrance at 10 mph...... Amazed again he got out and said "this is one awesome car, and you really know how to drive this thing"

I never get tired of telling people who are interested in this little car all the wonderful things it does well.

Yep, and that's with the dead weight of a passenger. Whole different beast solo.

I've always liked Mazda cars because they were different. I almost bought a Miata R a few years back after taking a test drive. It was a blast to drive, 2nd to the stook of course!

from what I read yellow is limited to 100 cars

It makes a great commuter/work car. I have had 4 civic hatchbacks before my last car that hit the bus a 00' Hyandia Elantra wagon a very good car for 13k loaded, if you can get by the stigma. The Protege5 is much more hip and its a 5 speed
