interesting thread, but ive never heard of our cars being referred to as "Mid-engine"

engine is in front of the driver, so its a front engine.
engine is between the front and rear axles so its a mid engine too.
therefore it is a front-mid engine.

Yes - Front Mid Engine.

There are a few new cars being displayed at various motorshows recently with the same layout. The currently accepted term for these are Front-Mid Engine.

The 350Z is also described this way. Nissan has even internally named the platform "FM" for Front Mid-engined.

I wonder if Fred Flintstone's car is also a mid-engined car, since his feet is between the front and rear axles?
