S2000 a mid-engine car?
Damn, this is nuts. Let's see how many s2ki.com mambers can dance on the head of a pin. I'm talking specifically about the head of the pin, not the edge of the head of a pin, nor the shaft area adjacent to the head of the pin.
I think some are equating MR(Mid-Rear) configuration with the term "mid-engined". As many have stated before, "mid-engine" means engine placed completely between the front and rear axle. It includes both MR and MF(Mid-Front) configuration.

Yes, I opened the hood and found the engine is in the middle, although it's a little to the left.

Wow, this reminds me of the arguments in the early days of the RX-8 forum about if the 8 should be considered a sedan or a 2+2 sports car. It has 4 doors! But they're not full doors and there's no front/rear door separator! etc etc.
For the record, I think that most people would agree that "mid-engine" means behind the cockpit, in front of the rear axle. But that said, I think in real world terms, the placement of our engine has the same benefits that a "traditional" mid-engine design has.
