It sounds better than some V6s and V8s.
That's the second time in this thread that someone alluded to a V6 sounding good. V6s do NOT sound good (I do not consider the VR6 a V6), in general.

although they didn't get the S up past 4krpm, it made the top 5 of v8's and up, that were mashed up to redline.

i won't complain.

Why didn't they use an AP1.. the extra revs and cam profile sounds 100x better IMO

sometimes I just want to over car and driver..

oh well at least they gave the S2000 some of the credit it deserves, since every time they write something on it, its poor at best...

add a testpipe to the s2k exhaust and it sounds alot better! Or go all out and purchase a Fujitsubo Legalis R cat back exhaust as it sounds fantastic!

That's exactly what comes to mind when I hear the loping sound once I cross-over into vtec land.
but i used to get that with the oem exhaust too, sounds like opening a worm hole the first time and then tearing it apart hehe.
Im glade they put in the top 5, because the oem S sounds pretty amazing and unique, you can't really say its bland, but you can't really say its agressive its in a category of its own.
The only thing that sounds close to it in my opinion at a much louder level is the HSV-010.
Its the way it sounds not how loud it is. I have a skunk2 mega power dual, and I love it especially in Vtec, but there was something about the oem that made it special like it was coming directly from the engine and not an exhaust.

BTW: i just listened to the sounds and they definitely should have rev'd it up higher, they squeezed the Ferrari the other top 3, they should have done the same for the S.

if i heard these sounds for the first time (not knowing how the s sounds to full potential) I would say Ferrari was the best and raise an eyebrow to why the "honda" was there.

you guys do know that with any sort of aftermarket exhaust the f20/22c will not pass emissions.. that's why Honda had no choice but to make the s2000 like this.. even a 09 4dr civic Si has a louder stock exhaust note !

but we all know... slap a single (or even just a CAI) on the AP1/2 and it just sounds amazing at WOT. well, with the CDV removed for AP2's atleast.
