S2000 Named One of the Best Exhaust Notes by C&D

you guys do know that with any sort of aftermarket exhaust the f20/22c will not pass emissions.. that's why Honda had no choice but to make the s2000 like this.. even a 09 4dr civic Si has a louder stock exhaust note !
That is why F20C in Japan is rated 247 bhp

What I'd like to know is how to get an LFA-like sound out of my car.
without '9000RPM V10 transplant' being the answer

s2000 note is not bad, but I hardly consider it one of the best. Why oh why was the wrx/sti exhaust note not on this list? I owned a wrx with full exhaust (catless) and it was SEX. EVERYONE commented on it, ha ha
Who ever judged the exhaust note was more amazed of the drone that the S made considering it's OEM. We all know any tuned exhaust will sing similarly loud and sweet on their respective tone. C&D I guess is looking at a couple of factors, original factory equipment and rarity of application. The Z engine for instance can be heard in at least three Nissan models. The S came out first and amazingly a 4 banger and that's why they can't help but praise it as a "coke snorting" engine.

Indeed the S2000 is a roadster that will remain in the circa of great sports car for the rest of the combustion engine history. It was made to impress and it did just that. It commemorated Honda's skill of making a small thing great. They could have shoe in a 6 cylinder in the S easy but they elected to show case an impressive 4. Could you make it better? Obviously yes. Can you escalate the set impression? I guess not.
IMO this car will be in the league of a collectible car in 30 years. Hopefully we will find one that hasn't been tweak even to this date.

g37/370z/fx45 all have very distinct, commendable exhaust tones (one of these should have been mentioned) bear in mind i actually hate these cars in almost every other category.
LFA is the winner in the exhaust tone category hands down..tuned by yamaha? you got to be kidding me!
s2000 f20/22 engine...a 4 cylinder in a league of it's own..but definitely lacks the exhaust tone i sought after
article is all opinion based..so no need to go into it beyond this.

I know Honda isn't known for their exhaust notes, but I think they could have spent some time on it.
I second the Intake noise.. my cars Intake is completely unique from ANYTHING on the road and i like that. Its loud only when i want it to be. see my white car for the intake noise reference. &feature=related
