Hello everyone,
I am in a delima! I Love the S2000 but after some dealership problems and continuing problems with ordering an 03 S2000 I am considering getting a 03 TT Quatro Coupe. The problem with the dealership happened when and sat in a used one just to remind myself the reasons why I loved the car, and a salesman came over and lectured me on what I could and could not touch on the car and how if I set in the car other people would believe they could set in the car. That was BULLSH*T considering I had a check and purchase order in to have one delivered to me. I was furious and went and demanded my check back. I am a 30 year old PCB Designer and can easily afford this damn car. This problem has happened before when I was just looking at the cars and they locked it with the remote while I was just taking pictures. Looks like if I buy one it will be from Dallas or San Antonio.

I will not diss the S2000, I truly believe it is one of the only true drivers cars. The S2000, however would be my daily driver as well as some small trips. I live in Austin TX and set on Mopac about an hour a day. As I am not a huge believer that the S2000 is under torqued I do believe that daily traffic would have a significant effect on the long term reliability of the car. I am an automotive enthusiast and love most sports cars. The TT is also a great car but not as performance oriented as the Honda. It does have some luxury items the Honda doesn't have as well as all wheel drive. It is a toss up that I am having difficulty making. One big thing is the Honda has only a 3 year 36k warrantee but the TT has 4 year 48k + 4 years of free service. Now that service doesn't cover any normal wear and tear items but it does cover oil changes and adjustments and they use Synthetic oil. I Love both cars as well as a many other ones but these decisions are difficult to make!

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a lot of respect for the people on this sight and value your opinions.

Thanks!!!

Only you can answer this question. Listen to your head then follow your heart. It is not the last car you will ever buy.

My advice on this from someone living in Houston that frequents Austin quite often. If it is going to be the daily driver and you can't afford to have it as strictly an exhibitionist car, Mopac would not be friendly at all on a daily basis. If I were you I might consider the new Accord Coupe coming out early next year; or, if you can swing it get something to go along with the S to use as a daily. I will probably be getting an S in November/December but it definitely won't be my daily. My 91 Accord will serve that purpose.

I purchased the Honda Care extended warranty for the S, 100,000 miles or 7 yrs, no deductible. I shopped it around and got it for $1,500, not the original $2,000 that my dealer quoted me when I bought it. You can buy this any time while the original warranty is still in effect and you do not have to buy it from the dealer you originally bought the car from. While it doesn't cover routine oil changes and stuff like that it is pretty extensive and includes road side assistance and coverage for a rental car if labor is more than 2/10 of an hour. The down side is you are dealing with a dealership for the serivce.

If you want a daily driver, check out the 350Z...MUCH better than any Audi IMO.

Thanks for the posts, I am still considering my options. I am going to look into a BMW 325CI or I may spring for the 330CI. They are all great cars. I currently have an 01 Prelude with only 4000 miles on it. I have some time to decide. I will probably buy mid next year anyway.

Again, thanks for the post and that is a funny Audi sight!
