Default S2000 OEM sound system change 2000-2006

My 2000 Black S2000 was stolen last week in CT. Be on look out for 2000 S2000 with 32k miles, large paint scatch left passenger door, VIN JHMAP1144YT007274. Has etched parts for security.

Going to replace with S2000 but not sure which year. Got a great buy on 2006. Aware of engine changes from 2000. Just drove 2006 and sound system was awesome compared to 2000. When did they add other speakers and make radio change for improved volume. Year by year change would help me make model year choice. Optimal car:
9k red line, glass back window, good OEM sound system.
Comments appreciated.

None of them have a good sound system.

Get an '03 and upgrade it.

Get a '02-'03, they have a better headunit and speakers than the '00-'01 while keeping the same engine. You'll also get the bonus of a glass rear window and a better tuned ECU.

The 06 radio system still sound like s--t. Blown my speaker in the first month. The roll bar speaker is so small it do almost nothing.
I had to spend another $1,000 and redo everything (HU. speakers, amp, modifry) and it sound good.
