Not sure but a lot of cars in SF gets stolen by tow trucks so immobilizers won't do anything. If they want it, they'll get it.

Well, mostly the stolen cars consist of the popular ones. Popular as in most sold and easy to get rid of the parts. Since the S is such a rare car compared to an Accord or Civic, it would most likely be passed up for one of them.

Unless the person was just looking for a joyride or something to beat the hell out of, then they would take the "fun" car. Like hyperpm said, if the theif really wants it, it dont matter what you do to it, they will get it. Unless we live in Mexico and can install a "shock" sensor to the car. This will give the potential theif the "Shock" of thier life if they touch it

I think the Civic Si's are more popular stolen cars like the Teg also.
Not S because the parts arn't really interchangeable to another car.
I bet a Teg R engine would fetch more money then S.

I've seriously pondered the shock thing before... I'd love to video tape that dog lifting it's leg on my tire...

"most stolen" in terms of number of vehicles stolen per year... NO WAY, there just aren't enough of them on the roads.

"most stolen" as a percentage of registered S's... maybe.

either way, insurance (coll & comp) is pretty pricey.

The S2000 already comes stock with an "immobilizer". I believe it cuts out the fuel pump. You must be talking about a hidden "kill" switch wired to the starter relay.

I've thought about running electrical current through the skin of the car, but a guy here in Florida was sued for the same thing. A kid walked up and touched the side... BAM! kid flew... Nice in concept, bad in practice....

Just bought an 03 and traded in my 01 Prelude. My insurance actually went down a few dollars a month. Before the Prelude I had all 4 wheels stolen off my 00Civic Si and all the Honda badges were stolen. In the S2000 typically the seats, wheels, and for some reason antennas are the most stolen. The car itself is reasonably secure. If your worried install LowJack. Typically it alone will keep people from driving it off.
