I have noticed that not many local Dallas s2000 owners wave even when you pass a car with the exact color combo as yours with the top down on a nice day. I get way more waves from other M3 owners when driving my M3.

Anyhow my point was pretty much plain and simple... Its okay to have arguments, but they do get carried away here on the form to the point were its immature. Some people start cursing at each other and start offending others and then its starts to look like our form is a bunch of teenage boys with toys. Sorry im 21, but i play nice with my toys. No need to fight. You want to fight like freaking sailors then go to a bar and go say the whole anything you can do i can do better routine.

Unfortunately, and sorry to say, as the production run gets older and the cars get cheaper, the quality of the owners start to diminish as well.

I have noticed this in the past 2-3 years on the board and it's very sad to see.

I don't know if it is related to the area that I live, or if it is a SCCA thing.... From the way the forums are here in the competition/racing section, I'm leaning towards both...

IMO, I find S2000 owners to be very swift to give driving and settings/mods tips. They even are quick to volunteer to help you work on the car, such as installing some Koni's or even just provide a helping hand in switching street tires to the comp ones. Even during the events, we share what's is and what is not working well. IMO, I do this as I want the S2K folks to do well and even help out my fellow competitors in the AS class so we are amongst the fastest.

As of the wave's, it's a mixed bag. Some wave or flash their lights and some don't.

I haven't been spending as much time here on S2kI as I did when we first got our car, so things might have changed without me noticing, but I have never found a better source of help and useful information on any car as what I've found here on S2kI. (Not saying that they don't exist, just that I haven't seen them.)

I believe that the arguing that gets out of hand, and the childishness, is inherent in the nature of the Web itself. My mother use to say, "There is one in every crowd," and when you have as large a group as we have here I guess you have more than a few.

As for waving, I go back to a time when driving an import actually did give one something in common with other import drivers. People who owned imported sports roadsters usually tuned their own cars (constantly), got wet when it rained, and were accustom to long waits for replacement parts. Magazines like Road & Track used terms like, "A hardy breed." It was also rare to see any kind of import (unless you were in LA), so it was a little like being a member of a private club. When you saw another member, waves were always exchanged, and more often than not you'd end up stopping for a chat. Pollution and safety laws regulated the traditional roadster out of existence, until Mazda introduced the MX5 in 1990. Apparently most of the early MX5 owners were people like me, who remembered the old roadsters, because the MX5 community quickly adopted the practice of waving. Back in '90/'91 modern roadsters were still rare enough to make it a bit like being in a private club. Today things are different, because everybody is making a roadster, and sports roadsters of every type are owned and driven by all types of people. You don't need to be able to work on a modern roadster to keep it running, and you don't have to get wet when it rain. You can just buy one and drive it, so much of what roadster owners once had in common simply isn't there anymore. I always enjoyed the waving and the feeling of unity with other roadster owners, but that was then and this is now.

If you want to really get to know S2000 owners, go to one of the S2kI events. You'll meet some of the nicest people around.

you certainly have a point with things not being all kosher on this board. but like others have said, constant reevaluation equates resilient excellence. some people here try to be realistic and bring real world challeneges to face our S2000 s. the S is an unlikely hero in that it had small numbers on paper and is made by a company who is known for their weak but reliable sedans. in the end, most of us would agree that the S is a keeper. those who couldn't take the heat and wanted more power or prestige have left. but when we can conclude that the S is a great car, it's worth something.

People come on this form a lot and start to diminish the car... why? Why are you on this form then?

Are you complaining about the AP1 vs AP2 wars?
Or the people saying it's not a drag car?

Sorry, I'm having trouble understanding your point.
