S2000 or porsche 911
This is probably the worst place to ask for advice but I'll try anyway.
Due to financial constraints I can either buy a new porsche targa 911 and get rid of my audi A6 or keep the audi and get a S2000.
The trouble is I have a 1 year old son that I ferry about. He would fit in the porsche but would it be a street.
What decision would you guys make and why.
I like the looks and prestige of the porsche but I loved driving the s2000. I feel at 37 I might be a little old for the s2000. Anybody own a 911?

The S2000 does not have an airbag cutoff switch. You would have to have a dealer or someone else install. The seatbelt was not designed for the little ones and installing a car seat would be dumb in this car.
The 911 has a cutoff switch when you purchase their child safety seats.

Being 25, not married/no kids, I may not know exactly what you are going through, but...
Keep the Audi for transporting your child...this is the safest of the cars you have mentioned and you never sacrifice safety for "coolness", especially when there is a child involved. If this means having to buy an S2000 instead of the 911, then so be it....there are definitely worse situations to be in.
As far as being too old for an S, I've seen a couple that must have been in their late 60's early 70's in a silver S riding down the Garden State Parkway with the top down...a car like this surpasses age....wait for the 911, at least until your son can ride unrestrained...

I tried out the 911 today and I must say I was disapointed. It seemed almost slow to me compared to the s2000. Probably the porsche is more refined but I remember getting a viseral thrill when driving the s2000. I know the 911 isn't slow but there was no thrill driving it- I may have been driving too gently because it was the salesmans own car.
The one thing I did notice is that the porsche salesman treated me like a human being as opposed to the weasel in the Honda showroom who tried to get me to sign a purchase agreement BEFORE I did the test drive.
I think I will get the S2000 but not from that d*ck of a salesman at Honda Nanuet.
I think the S2000 will be safe for my son as long as he is in the car seat and away from the airbag.
