Default S2000 Production Plants

I was searching some of th FAQ's and Stickies around here and came across the one that basically breaks down your VIN code. I noticed that mine contains a "T" in the manufacturing plant slot.

"S" for Suzuka
"T" for Tochigi

cant recall the other production plant, i believe it was Takanezawa.

I was wondering if there was any pros/cons in having an S that came from any particular plant.

If your car wasn't made by the old man on line 2, section 4, you're probably going to have clutch buzz.

My 05 AP2 has "S" in the vin.
I thought the Tochigi plant had a fire and they moved production to the Sikuka plant.

Tochigi was the factory through the 2004 model year. Then it switched to Suzuka. Thus, all AP1 and one year of AP2 were at Tochigi.

There should be no difference in the cars, as Honda's production lines are pretty standardized. They move models around all of the time with no ill effects.

For a time, Tochigi was the limited production line. The NSX, s2k, and original Insight were assembled there.
