S2000 reliability
The car has several problems frequently noted here. Most have been the subject of service bulletins so it's hard to argue venue bias about them. None of them really affect its viability as a daily driver, though.
It is a fine daily driver, if: you don't need much room, you don't have back troubles, and you like to go really fast.

ditto, S2WOOOW.
but also, its another reason why I don't visit the dealer for any of the TSB's until I can find some guys I can trust to work on the car. I do all the work myself, and will soon tackle valve adjustments, and fluids in the rear and tranny. I appreciate knowing my car and how it behaves, and I feel that every few minutes I spend working on it, doing little stuff, like brake upgrades and the swaybar installation, I learn a bit more about it as a whole, and can notice certain changes to the car, cosmetic, handling, or otherwise, much more quickly than I could if I didn't. I'm not new to cars, or working on them, its just my preference.
Also, this is my only car. Hence, daily driver, even though I'm unemployed and have no where to drive at the moment. However I did, when I did. =)

there is undoubtly a lot of sampling bias on this forum. only the ones with problem voluntarily report them while the ones with perfectly running s2k's dont feel the need to do any reporting. the numbers you see most likely represent a small minority. there is a lot of owners on this board( hundreds??) even if you see 20-30 people reporting problems, those still constitute a very small percentage. you should also consider the fact that some owners race their cars which contribute to some of the reported problems. if you are determined to get a sports car, you cant go wrong with honda.
I know the ladies on this board will probably label me as a male-chauvanist-sexist-pig for saying this; however, here goes: The S2000 is a lot like a beautiful woman. When you first see her from afar, she seems like the most desirable creature on the face of God's green Earth. Then, if you are lucky enough, you meet her, fall in love and have a wonderful, fun-filled courtship followed by (in some cases) a wedding.
Then, sooner or later, reality begins to set in; after all, she's human, just like you. She has any number of faults, frailities and weaknesses. You either learn to accept her (warts and all), or trade her in for the next beauty that comes along. If you truly love her, accept her for what she is (and isn't). It's just too bad relationships don't come with extended warranties!

Though the point has been made, I don't think it can be overstated that many first time posters who have had the car quite some time will be coming here because of a problem and seeking help and advice. You don't get an overall true picture by any means. I've had my S2000 20 months, and no problems whatsover, no rattles, and just getting quicker all the time. It just doesn't make a very interesting post.
I second Lane's comment about public forums. I, too, make (or made until I was laid off) computer games. Anything, and I mean *anything* wrong with the product will be dramatically brought up in a forum and beaten to death. I realize that this forum is very tame, but even so, the pattern implies that this car is exceedingly reliable and problem-free.
As for me, no problems in 25,000 miles and almost a year of ownership. It's been as reliable as the '97 Civic it replaced. Unless you luck out and get one of the few bad cars (or run into some incompetent mechanics working on your car), you should be ok.
There's a saying in the online gaming industry, people will always complain. If they are complaining about legitimate stuff, worry. If they complain about stuff you know isn't a problem or at least a serious problem, you're doing ok
The fact that every other post in here *isn't* a complaint of some sort sets this forum apart from the usual cestpool of public forums, and one of the reasons I like it so much. BTW, Lane, glad to hear of another game-maker who likes the S2000
