Default Is the s2000 right for me?

Over the past year I have been doing a TON of research on what kind of car to get and I keep coming back to either an S2k or WRX. I have about 20k to spend, and I want to know if an S2k is right for me. I know its reliable, I read that its not a bad car to learn stick on (I can drive stick pretty well, but not great), and overall I hear nothing but great things about it. It will be my primary driver, mainly to get to and from rutgers (about a half hour drive). I plan on using it daily. My only concern is insurance, but my record is completely clean and I have a good student discount. So am I making the right decision?

$20K will get you a pretty used (and even beat up) S2K. I'd put out another $5K to get a somewhat new one instead. Most owners drive pretty hard during their ownership, including myself. Some may not drive it hard all the time, but I bet most drive it in a "spirited" manner oftenly. After all, it's an S2000 and it's a Formula One for the streets, meaning it's extremely fun.

Is the car for you? Only you can answer that yourself. Go drive a few and you decide. After you've driven it a few times and you still ask this, then the car is definitely not for you. I'm a chic and I drive a penis-mobile; a very fun penis-mobile that is. Sorry, I had to throw that in there, cuz everytime I look at it from the front, I'd be like: "Woah! The penis is staring at me!"

try to get a 02/03 if you can, put down 20k and finance the rest. most of the problems were fixed by 02. just my opinion though.

I'm willing to throw down a little more money so that shouldnt be an issue. I'm a little concerned with comments along the lines of "the s2k istn a good daily driver." Is this the case? I really dont mind a rough ride if thats the problem...
