S2000 and RSX Type S Comparison
rsx-s is a very nice car. its not as good as the s in many respects, but considering its price tag, it's an excellent car. and it's not just a glorified civic. according to my latest edition of car and driver, price for the type s is $23500, 0-60 6.1 sec., 1/4 mile 14.8, skidpad 0.86g. during my last test drive, i found the car to be very well balanced, torque steer is practically nonexistent and steering is excellent. its suspension is a bit soft and the cabin may be too quiet for many of us, but hey its not meant to be a stripped down sports car. BTW, acura service is much better than honda's. having owned two acuras and two honda in the past 10 years, i can tell you the difference in service is night and day. if there was a more expensive version of s2k badged as acura, i would gladly pay more to get the better quality and service. just my 2 cents.
And seriously, I hear ya about the customer service issue. But I think slapping on an Acura badge would take away from the novelty of the s2k. I just like watching the expressions on peoples faces when they realize that this car is a Honda! I mean who knew that Honda could make such machinery.. hehe
Now if Honda made a separate service bay/center just for S2k's, or at least train just a few techs and advisors to work only with S2k's at each dealer. It would be a godsend.
And I think Lexus holds the benchmark for excellent customer service. Something Honda should look at.
