s2000 as a "safety" car
that is, in a term familiar to college applicants, a secondary choice to one's top pick. how many here actually considered the s2000 as an alternative to another vehicle? what made you decide to purchase the s instead? do you feel happy with your decision?
First choice: Ruf RTurbo.
Reason for buying the S instead: Well, I can give you about 200 thousand of them.
Do I feel happy with my decision: Absolutely... but that doesn't mean that I won't buy an RTurbo if someone forces a quarter million bucks on me.

gansta, I think mxt's opinion pretty much echoes most of us around here. We have a "dream" car, but it's so way out of reach it's not reasonable. For me, I suppose it'd be an Enzo, but that's clearly in a different world. I've always loved the 60's E-Type Jags, but I'm not capable of maintaining one.
So, yup, the S2000 is something of a safety car for me, but I knew I wanted one in the mid-late 90's when the SSM was showing. When they finally released the S2000, I was PUMPED.
No regrets. If my ship comes in someday, an Enzo'll be on my shopping list, but I'm not counting on it.
