I've just purchased an S2000 a couple of weeks ago. When the dealer claimed that 2002 will likely be the last year of production, I just took it as sales talk and certainly did not consider that in the negotiation process.

However, last night my friend metioned that he had read about it in some magazine...so just wondering if there's any truth at all to this.

Thanks

Funny, they told me the same thing last year!!!! It's a great gimmick to give you that extra push in buying this kind of car. Makes you feel like you just made a WISE investment. I do belive they will stop production, but I see this 7,8 years down the road.

It's like telling your gf we gonna break up and this is the last time you have sex together......Man, then next day you say the same and still have great sex again! Honda is feeling the goodess and will NOT stop production for awhile....Car salesman will tell you what you wanna hear, just like your GF when they need you!

dood, that's like a standard line that those fools give you at the dealership. sort of when you tell a girl you love her just to get some action.

But one thing is how do they explain themselfs now. I mean, I'm sure Honda doesn't have the balls to say, " Sorry guys, we lied, surprise". What is they'r official excuse for not of having ceased production in 01?

They were spouting the same line in 2000...then they "increased" the number of cars to the US instead of halting production. They won't stop production of this beater until they have something to replace it, and that ain't happening in 03.
