If you want to know some people who know their cars, just look to Car & Driver. They rated the S2000 over the BMW, Boxster, and others in two comparisons; one in 2000 where it beat the BMW M roadster (240hp), Boxster, and MB SLK in "Bending the Rules", and in "The Blow Dryers" which is articulated poignantly by Patrick Bedard where it beat the Z4 3.0, 350Z roadster, Boxster, and Audi TT.

That's a magazine that knows it's material.
Trying reading a little article called "Hot Tin Roofs" where the S2K got 3rd behind the Z and Mach 1 in a coupe shootout. Ummm, does anyone see something wrong with this picture?? (hint, it's not a coupe) I don't trust any of the magazines, they are trying to sell copies first and maintain their integrity second.

The M3 CSL bit in that one vid is OUTSTANDING. Clarkson is a very engaging host...

When I bought my first S2K (2001), I considered the Boxster S until I realized it would cost $20,000 more to be equivalent to the S2K (leather, HIDs, etc.). Not to mention, the S2000 was still faster!

The nail in the coffin for the Boxster was when I compared service costs. The 15K service from Honda was ~$120, while the same maintenance from Porsche was ~$350. Enough said...

I still want a GT3 really bad though.
and consider you can work on the s2k. the boxster engine access is underneath. who has a lift in their garage?!

the way they described the reason for the boxster was the very reason to pick the s2k as the best. that confused me

Was this a regular Boxster or a Boxster S that they were comparing on this show?

Boxster S. If you missed the show don't worry. It wasn't that great. The S2000 segment was among the shortest.

Funny thing is in the UK I gues the boxster isn't that much more $$$. 18K pounds for a used one that's pretty cheap.

Value for money was a big part of the show and they claimed the Boxster was better.

They didn't on the other hand take into consideration repairs bills, and I would suspect the Honda would win in that case.

It was an old show, the Street Ka has been out for a while, Vicky mentioned 2003 in that clip. I think it was a late 2002 show!
