my complaint about the s when buying was that i too felt it was a bit overpriced. now don't forget that i did buy it am i'm very happy with it.
i think 31k is a lot of money for a car that doesn't have too many amenities...i know it's not a luxury car but come on now my wife's civic has a better stereo and better power doorlocks. i would have been much happier with the price of the car if it had a better stereo, real powerlocks, climate control and a compass/outdoor temperature gauge.
Buy a porshe Boxster if you want those things. Nice cup holders heated seat great stereo for stock. It's only ~15k more and just a little bit slower than our cars. That's how much those things your asking for will cost you in another car. However you could just get those amenities added aftermarket for 1-2k.

the stereo could be fixed yes. the miatas have a nice temp/compass on the rearview mirror...i wonder if that could be incorporated to this car? heated seats...could it be done where it would actually look professional with the placement of the buttons and leather seat reapolster? (spelling)

Mustang GT convertible will run around $29K, so it does edge out the S2K on price. If you want a 4 seat convertible, it's defintiely the way to go. Performance-wise, the S2K and Mustang are apples and oranges. The Mustang has way more grunt and straight line acceleration, and the S2K will eat its lunch in the curves. But as road and track says, the S2K is the best all around sports car for under $35K.

I have sat in the alot of the competition (this is the big thing to me). Frankly I love the way the S hold me nice and tight. Frankly it fits me like a glove, plus I like small nimble cars. The S is all these. I will hopefully be picking mine up within a month.

I've NEVER head "overpriced" used to describe the S2K before.

If anything, it's underpriced...

Also note road and track ranked our car as the number 5 best sports car AHEAD OF THE VIPER! The C6 was #1 the Lotus was #4. You'd never be able to handle the lotus as an daily driver. #2 and 3 went to porshe. the 350z came in 9th I think. So basically as a sports car goes we pretty much kick ass per$ out of everything out there which is why were #5 no other reason than value for the money.
hahahahah C6 #1? LOL.
reason why I don't rear Road and Track.

C6 blows! Sorry for m french.

C6 faster acceleration better handling. Performance wise it kills our car even in the twisties. Why would you think it blows because of reliability?

Add to that the fact that all parts are exclusive to this car (high manufacturing cost) and that this is a relatively low volume car - you have an even better bargain than you originally thought.
