over/underpriced perception is a tough one.

When I moved to Germany I sold my US E36 M3, and got the S2k for 7k more than I sold the M3 for (obviously the S2k was 5 years newer). After getting blown away with the performance, I took it home in a rain shower. I was a bit taken back with the CLICK noise from the wiper relay, the lack of passenger express-down windows, and what felt like cheaper materials than my M3 (with luxury package). No board computer. No navigation. No electric seats. No wood grain.

But then.... IT DOESN'T MATTER. Didn't take long before I really fell in love with the car and didn't look back.

wow i've never heard people say the S2000 is overpriced....i actually think it's UNDER-priced
put a Acura badge on it and sell it for $40,000 and people will still pick em up.

Honda would sell more of em with an acura badge. People would argue that it was a better faster car if it had that badge on it.

Agreed. It's not a luxury car, it's a sports car. Navigation, electric seats, wood grain ... all cost weight as well as money.

Besides, how could one justify "let's try this fun looking road and see if it works" if the car had a navigation system?

Well, compared to a Mazda Speed Miata, RX8, STI, EVO, Mustang GT, GTO-400HP, all similarly priced and better value for money. Also right now leasing BMWs is cheaper than leasing an S2000. The Corvette and Elise are on 7k more

But hey!!! I LOVE the S2k and just becuse i think its is expensive doesnt mean i won't get one..Im just whining cause it means ill have to save up a little longer

I'm not sure what your frame of reference is. A Mustang is a POS.
An STI is a great car, but it does not have the same class. It is a kid car
the EVO even more of a kid car. The M3 is radically more expensive than the S.
The Corvette and Elise are easily $17K more not $7K more than an S.

An S2000 at a properly negotiated price is a real bargin. If you're walking in and seeing the $34.5K sticker with a markup added on then I can see how you are confused. A new 2005 S2000 should sell at about $30K now days.
