Why do people say that the speedometers are inaccurate at higher speeds in our cars???
At 135 my GPS was at 133 which is a small margin of error IMO. Another myth dispelled?

i think most people have verified the speedo while on the dyno.... the dyno **should** be correct and will read one thing while the speedo often reads higher at the higher speeds.

There are too many variables....worn out tires are smaller than brand new tires...different brands of tires are different sizes even though they claim to be the same.....that alone could create enough difference at 150mph......

That is my $.02

do you have new tires / old tires? aftermarket 17" / 18" tires and wheels? stock tires?

Well all speedos are designed to overread at least slightly. As for those who've seen 160+ in the S2k their speedo is either overreading massively or they are on a long downhill stretch with a following wind. There is no way a stock S2000 will do more than just over 140 at best on a level road.

Sorry dude, on a level road, I had nooooooo problems at all topping out 5th, and half way into 6th. I pulled to 157 (although took a while) and had I had more room, would have broken 160.

My car is completely stock with appx. 3000 miles on the stock tires at the time I was driving down the interstate verifying the speedo with GPS. I would have went faster but my passenger was more than a little frightened. I slowed down because I couldn't deal with the screaming.
