Hmm...I wonder why everyone else in the world got the 2.2L by now, but Europe never did. That's the main reason why I'm so torn between getting another AP1 or an AP2...I'd miss the 9K, haha. For the last year in the US, Honda should offer an engine choice between the 2.0L and the 2.2L! Pipe dream, yes I know =P

No, it's a GPW AP2 with red interior and CR wheels and badges.
No, AP1/AP2 is the VIN designation for the engine, not the chassis.

Based on the the pictures that was taken...it looks like it comes with snowtires as well! Ultimate indeed.

We've covered this before, but all chassis produced now are AP2. Euro S2000s still have the F20C engine though. A Euro S2000 is an AP2 as are all S2000s made now, just the engine is different.

Probably because Honda Europe figured it could still sell the F20C engine and not have to certify the F22 for sale, thus avoiding cost. Or, Honda wanted to stay in the sub two-liter engine tax categories. Also, Europeans are used to smaller engines, so it didn't mater as much. Also, Europe is a low-volume market for the S2000 and cost recovery is not guaranteed if it did go through the cost of introducing a new engine.

Wrong - AP1 & AP2 are chassis codes, F20C & F22C are engine codes. All '04+ S2000's are AP2 regardless of which engine was stuffed in them.

So it's literally the ultimate edition. Doesn't sound very exciting.

If it were figuratively an "ultimate edition", it'd have a SC or turbo, I would think.

Such a waste of an exit opportunity! Seems to me even Ford did better with Eddie Bauer editions. So sad.
