No they won't - not when they are saddled with FWD!

0-60 and 1/4 miles probably not. But on track and auto-x it's anybody's guess.

If "faster" means higher top speed, then it's possible that the RSX-R w/ 220HP may top out higher due to lowerer drag...

The reason im so unsure is that if I am correct the rsx is already 200lbs lighter then our cars and if history of the type-r name repeats itself this car will be even lighter, maybe better suspension, brakes, gearing?

true Type-R is lighter than S2000...but RSX is not 200lbs lighter than S2000.

2002 Honda Integra Type-R: about 1180kg

2002 Acura RSX Type-S: about 1340kg

1998 Acura Integra Type-R: about 1080kg

Honda supposedly posted a 14 flat in the 1/4. Making it at least as fast as an S2000 and the fastest FWD car ever produced. They are SWEET cars. To me it really comes down to the fact that it is still based on an economy car platform and will not be as fun to drive as an S2000. Can't put the top down on the thing either. I'd love to have one though. I wouldn't trade my S2000 for one though. With my financial situation, if I was in the market for a new car I would pick one up over an S2000.

In Best Motoring video the S2K is faster and out handle the RSX R. The new R is barely faster than the old R. I'm one of those that still believe in the old B18C over the new K series. There's more kick in the old VTEC than with the new one since the new iVTEC aims is to smooth out the power curve rather than give us that VTEC kick that make you feel like doing it again.

Idk if this helps with the Type-R question, but Car & Driver in May 2002 edition just tested the RSX Type S with other sports coupes, so some number for it are available, anyway.
