Drive them both and decide. New is new though, and a 20K S2000 probably will be out of warranty.

You'll like the ride of the S2000 more for sure, but practicality is everything, whether you need it or not. I didn't need it, and that's why I tradeded my WRX in for the S2000.

The SI does sound pretty nice compared to this years model.

What are your intentions with the car?
Si if you need back seats, plan on driving in the snow, need trunk space, want lower insurance (?), like to mod, don't mind FWD.
S2K if you want a pure sports car, want the "pimp" factor, like RWD, want the exclusivity, like convertibles.

Having owned an RSX-S, I can say that S2K is 10x more fun. And the new Si has been called similar to the RSX-S (even though the Si has a LSD). The RSX-S is a better engine to mod...what are people up to 280whp all motor? where you'll never see that in the S2K without FI. But, would you rather have that modded 280whp ($$$) to the front wheels or the 200whp to the rear?

The new Si doesn't do it for me. Actually, none of the Si's have been on my "considering to buy" list. I'd rather get an (used?) RSX-S before the Si.
You do realize the Si has a Limited slip diff and the RSX-S doesn't. The Si has side curtain airbags, RSX-S doesn't. You can get summer perf tires on the Si at no cost, RSX-S you can't unless the dealer does it. The Si has a 360watt stereo, RSX-S doesn't. The Si has balancer shafts which for some reason help to reduces the boom sound in the cockpit at high rpms, and the RSX-S doesn't. The Si has electronic power steering, RSX-S doesn't. You can get Navi on the Si. The base price on the Si is under $20k, and the RSX-S is $23,800. And as far as I see it the only advantages are leather seats, 6 disc cd changer and climate control. I personally thnk the Si is so much a better buy, and a better performance car. With $4k difference in price, sales on the RSX-S are likely to drop, even more than they have been.

If you need practical -- Civic Si.

If you want pure, unadulterated fun, get the S2k.

I've driven alot of cars -- and the S2k is one of the most fun cars you can buy. Period. Not the quickest, fastest -- but man it puts a silly smile on your face.
could not of said it better myself.

Only buy the RSX-S if you are a badge whore.

S2k might be more to insure than the SI. Go with the S2k unless you need something practical, and if you needed something practical and sporty go WRX.
