S2000 vs. 350Z
I am a parts manager at a Nissan dealership and have been for 17 years now. I am a Nissan enthusiast through and through. I believe in their products and have nothing bad to say about any of them. I have owned and driven every Nissan ever made in that 17 years. That being said...I bought an 02 S2000 a few weeks ago and I love it.
Sometimes you have to buy a vehicle from another manufacturer regardless of your loyalties to get that special something you are looking for at that specific time. I have owned a Mustang Cobra, C4 Corvette LT1, C4 Corvette LT4, Trans AM Turbo 20th Anniversary Edition, and several others.
I am also a fan of sportbikes and had an 02 Honda 954RR. When I wrecked it in December it occured to me that at 36 years of age it might be time to get back into a car. That's when my search for something exciting to drive began.
I decided right away it would have to be a convertible. I wanted to have the open air feeling of a motorcycle. The 350Z was my first choice, but they are really expensive to have for just a weekend toy, and I could find a used one that wasn't outrageously priced.
For the money this car can't be beat! Can you say 9000 RPM readline? I knew that you could.

I have owned the 350Z for one year, I liked it it was ok, but all I can say is that in my book the S2K is more of a sports Car , more aggressive, nervous engine ready to kick some ass where the 350Z would be more aof a relaxed engine you know the" Take it easy mannn" I woul put the S2K in a category of real sports cars it reminds me of the 300ZX TT a definit classic well I believe that the S2K will be a classic just like th 300ZX TT, I've owned the 300ZX TT before the 350 and it kills the 350Z in every single way, only the S2K makes me forget about the 300ZX TT , I get that same feeling like the 300ZX TT , nice interior, feels solid you know that real Japan JDM Feeling .
Again I've owned the 350Z for one year and now own an S2K (approx. 6 months) and I wouldn't give up the S2K for a 350Z.

4 years later, I'd still pick the S2000.
350Z is very nice though. There is nothing wrong with a quieter boring ride to work. I'm alseep most of that commute anyway. The V6 feels great....good enough to overlook that slight boat feeling.
Unfortunately, the trunk isn't big enough for a golf bag...no..not even with that special instruction on how to stuff a junior golf bag in the trunk.
I think I would still take the Z over a boxster s if the trunk is big enough. But then again, the reality is that boxsters are the kings of the trunk.
Anyone know if the larger trunk in the slk350 is big enough for a golf bag? Ok, maybe this is a wrong thread for that.
