I think a perfect launch in both and the S would pull, slightly, but getting a perfect launch in the S is like fitting Andre the Giant in the passenger seat of either.

They are 2 different cars for 2 different drivers. And as you can tell, motor trend is written by older folks that want comfort over speed. Anyone who's driven an RX-8 will definately know that the 350 and S are definately more sporty competitors. But the 8 is soooo much more comfy...albeit smaller in the front seats than in my S, IMHO.

So is the 350 better? Depends on what you want. I want a sports car...hands down. If you want comfort, buy a 350...

I was a Nissan driver (240SX) before buying my S, and was leaning towards the 350 till I got a chance to drive an S overnight....never went back.

jeremy clarkson (from that british car show) obviously knows his sh*t when it comes to cars, and he absolutely praised the s2000, its actually one of his favorite cars ever made. then he reviewed the 350z, he basically called it a fat, boring pig. he also noted how cheap the interior was when the model he was driving had all sorts of loose plastic pieces.

It's like this. Everyone has they own opnion. I like both 350 and s2k. WhenI first got the S2k after owning 500whp MKIV single turbo supra for 2 years it was like WTF... no room anywhere.. I can't put 300lbs of cargo and still climb the Grapevine on 6th gear at 3k rpm.

Like i said it's what ever floates your boat. I enjoyed the supra while it lasted. sold it. and got a 02 s2k. I luve this car but i would never compare the 2 since they're completely different class. same with 350Z and s2k. built with different customers in mind.

I was curious, too. The 04 may be a tick faster as it has tighter gears. the power curve is more a leftward shift over the F20 than a performance jump.

How different is the 350z Roadster's performance from the coupe? If there are comparisons to be made, they should be roadster vs roadster.

I always look at the 0-100mph times when I see car mags and the 350z is always around 13.5-14 secs but the S2000 is always around 15 secs.....350z seems to reach 100mph faster (at least in magazines)
