I have a timeslip here that shows I reached 98 mph in 14.1 seconds. Somehow I don't think that it was going to take me another .9 seconds to get another 2 mph

- I think bottom line is that these two cars come really close to each other...

Ok, here we go....

Here is the end-all argument to 350z vs. ... well anything

i'm sorry i used to like the 350z, but this has to be embarrassing .. people replacing trannys as often as 1000K miles .. and people getting rid of old Zs, buying new ones and having the same problems?! Come on, if it were one or two ppl sure - i wouldn't blame the car ... but this is ridiculous. 14 Pages 90% of the posts are different ppl complaining about replacing trannys as early as 3000 miles and having grinding issues shifting into 3rd gear.

check it out for yourself!

Also the problem has yet to be fixed and 04's show no improvment (Car and Drivers test car just had this problem its an 04)

I can tell you guys that I would not even have considered the Z over my S. Whether it may be a tiny bit faster or not, it just isn't as raw as the S. And the S definitely gets more looks than the Z (not sure whether or not this is a good thing), cause there seem to be sooooo freaking many of them running around...

And speaking of them running around, I can honestly say that I have seen 2 guys driving Zs around here, and I have seen damn near 20 or so Zs in this area.....so that tells ya which is more of a ladies car......

The 350Z never really appealled to me when cross shopping. That trunk brace looks like such an after thought.

I have only driven one car before the S2000, a 95 Saturn SL2 in which it gave me no problems in 9 years of ownership.

After 2 months of ownership, I keep reminding the wife that when it is time to replace the S2000, it will have to be with another S2000.

After drivingit, why would I want anything else.

I have no need for a vette of carrera, Other than at the track 3 times a year, I would be using about 50% of the cars potential.

I am ranting, partly due to the fact that I am hopped up on caffiene.

A little background:

1. I LOVE CARS!
2. the Z is kinda in my blood, as my father has owned a Datsun 240, 280Z and a 1991 300Zx, I grew up with the 280 and the 300

I test drove a lot of cars before pursching my S2000. 350Z, G35, Rx8, BMW 3 series, etc. I've owned Audi A4, VW GTI, Lexus IS300.

Out of all the cars I've owned, all the cars I've driven (test rides, friends cars, I used to work at a dealer so all the cars from there as well). ONLY the S2000 left something with me. Left somethng in my soul.

I remember the first time I drove an S2000 was when I worked at an Acura dealer. We had one come in on a trade, black 2001. I took it for a test drive to 'learn' about the car and it stuck with me for years. I couldn't stop talking about how the car felt. To me, that says something about a good car. When it can impress you that much.

Having said that, the Z is a nice car, but its totally different. I like to look at it like this...

A butcher knife and a scalpel both do the same thing, they cut things. However, they both have specific ways of cutting things and they are used totally differently. i fyou are the type of person that prefers the butcher knife approach, a little sloppy, brutal and somewhat generic...you may like the Z. If you are more precise, like craftsmanship, and skill to get your results...you may like the S2000.

My friend has a 350z, enthusiast edition I think. Anyway, we did several rolls on the highway and he walked me every single time. We varied speeds from 45-60 on up to 100+ and he pulled a few cars on me every time. And it wasn't the driver. If anything, I'm a better driver than he is as I used to drag my RSX.

The Z may be a lot heavier, but I think the CD on the highway owns the s2000. We didn't race from a stop.
