[QUOTE=bankstreet,Nov 2 2007, 02:10 PM] didn't the 335i kill an S2000 around Laguna Seca so I'd suspect a 135 would do

I don't care it if it's classic Jesus Christ. I just don't like it.

I hate to say this, but I think the 135i will smoke a stock S in straight line or even on track.
They have amazing power to weight ratio, and the price is very reasonable IMO.
It'll sell out like hot cakes, but eventually there will be dime a dozen of these on the street.
I still like the rawness and exclusivity of the S2000.

They should come out with an xi version just to mess with Subaru.

The N54 motor is pretty stout, people are getting 350 whp and 400+ tq on exhaust and reflash. That car will be a rocket if it really only weighs 3200 lbs.

Hey people, please be aware that we're comparing the convertible and not the coupe.

I agree.

I also agree that its ugly, but it wears the roundel and has a nice engine so it WILL sell. For most it will "grow" on them like everything else... This happens every time a new car is launched, S2000 CR, any BMW since bangle took over, the 350Z, etc. etc.

I still don't like the "new" 5, 6, 7 or Zs. I think the 3 is still pretty clean, but that's because BMW wasn't going to dramatically alter their number 1 seller. BMWs drive fantastic, but the styling has gone to shit. Otherwise I like them. Give me an 850CSi, E46 M3 and E39 M5. Class acts.

The best way I can describe this car is "Dopey". The headlights make it look like the Re-re of the batch and the overall proportions are all too short, too tall, etc. The convertible will alleviate the "tall" issue, but Im not feeling the 1. All I can think when I see the front is Carlos Mencia saying "De de de"

Invest that $10k diff on s2k

Also, I don't like its look either. Can't get used to looking at such small bmw. 335i and previous m3 looked the best to me.

If you put that $10k in a FI system and suspension upgrade the S2000 will own the 135i street or track.

But both stock the 135i is gonna bitchslap the S.

I like the looks of the 135i. My wife likes it so much she is already planning on trading her RSX S.

cannot compare the cars, the S2000 is not a twin turbo 3.0 6 cyl and it is a bmw and a 4 seater and the S2000is not a race car , it is a 4 cyl roadster...that is my opinion.

that being said this could be my next car when i tire of a roadster. it has promise. looks like the car has allot of promise.
