S2000 vs. WRX?
It surprises me how many threads I've seen with people agonizing over whether to get a WRX or an S2000. Acceleration figures only, these cars are pretty evenly matched, but after that it's apples and oranges. I too found myself 8 months ago having narrowed my choices down to S2000 vs. WRX. My final determining rational for getting the S2000 being that even though the WRX seemed so much more practical both financially and geographically (Massachusetts) it was the sensibility of the WRX that finally pushed me away from it. I don't want to be practical, I wanted a toy , I bought it, and have NEVER regretted my choice. If I'd gone the other way and bought a WRX, I'm certain I would have had pangs of anxiety every time I saw an S2000. Any other members have similar feelings?

I was in the same position as you were before. After some problems with the manager at Subaru (where I ordered my car) I ended up canceling it and ordering an S2000. Good choice...but every time I saw a WRX I wish I had one.
My wife suprised me on Christmas with the WRX. Its a fun car, but not as fun as the S2000. I always leave the S2000 with a smile.

but overall, IMO the WRX has much better fix up potential in terms of aesthetics and motor than the S. S looks great from the factory, and doing anything really ruins the classy look, but the WRX is a whole other story. Fixing up the Subbie (with good taste of course) always gives me a "wow" impression.

Like them both. I have the S my bro has the WRX. Both perform great. But when were out in the cars I'm the one taking all the looks from passers by. Even though he just bought it, my brother's goal is to one day own an S2000.

The WRX is capable of 0-60 in 4.3 seconds. Lets see an S2000 do that! I also had to drop 6 grand into it to get those figures. BTW: I am selling my WRX but it is one FAST car.

I was in the same situation about 6months ago. Finally decided that since I am still single the S is the car to have now. Haven't regretted the decision yet. Especially since last weekend when I turned that 600mile mark! weeeeee!

Here's something to think about (which I considered when buying my S2000);
(With the assumption that you are going to keep the car)
Can you see yourself driving the WRX in 10, 15, 20 years?
Me personally - no way!! Too boy racer. The S2000 on the other hand has a beautiful classic roadster look to it - something that will be easy on the eyes for a long time, like some of the classic Porsche speedsters.
Just my 2 pesos.

The only reasons I can think that someone would be considering two cars that are so different is (1) they have not even begun to think about what they need in a car or (2) they are only thinking about straight line performance and would buy a Camaro were it not for the heavy Velveeta factor.
