Default S2000 will be a cult classic

Presently we enjoy our S2000's. In the future I believe our cars will be looked at with reverence as people today look at BMW 2002 - Datsun 240 Z - Triumph TR 6 - models.

One day people will look back and say, remember the S2000 ?

I am glad to have one now.

I think you're right. Even though I have an '04, I think the '00-'03 will be the most desirable because of the output/L and the 9K redline.

Some people speculate it'll be worth a lot, but I don't see that - I see S2000s bottoming out in value for well-maintained ones around $15,000. I'm sure a pristine, low-mile car might bring $20,000 in the future, but that will be the exception.

I think it's such a well-made and fun car that it will be popular for a long time to come.

I think it'll still look good in 50 years. I mean the lines on it are so simple that they wont go out of fashion too soon.

The prices on the used S are interesting. In the Saturday paper a dealer was selling a MY00 for just under $22K. Go figure.

I think you may get your wish. The Jan05 issue Road and Track feels that the 06 S2000 will be the last year because of the poor sales.

I don't know if it will appreciate in the future because the previous S models haven't really climbed and not many people will have low mileage S2000s in 10-20 years.

A lot of people stop and ask me "what kind car is that?" I say, "it's a Honda S2000". They say "it sure looks fun to drive", "I say it sure is". They look at it for a few moments before they leave.

There are a lot of people that have never seen or heard of an S2000. On the other hand, everyone has seen a Camaro, a Mustang and a 911. There are millions of Camaro's and Mustangs as they are indeed great cars. If you consider how many Camaro's and Mustang's there are, there is only a small handfull of S2000's.
