I have an 2002 Grand Prix White / Red S2000, the rarest combo of them all. When purchasing it, my sole intention was to keep it forever and pass it down to the next generation.

I would love to one day look down from heaven (assuming that I'm going to heaven), see it still in my great grandson's garage.
nice color combo
even now this is a much sought after combo deserving of a price premium on sell....

I completely agree (but then again, I've got the exact same thing). I'm not getting rid of this.

The S2000 is great because car enthusiasts know what it is and appreciate it and non-enthusiasts wonder what it is.

I saw the article in Road&Track saying that the S2000 would face cancellation in 2006 or 2007 due to lackluster selling. My first thought was dam I don

I do not accept the idea that Honda will automatically end production because the sales are falling. They might end it for other reasons, but I don't think sales would be the reason. The S2000 has always made up a tiny fraction of their overall sales. Honda sells about 300,000 Accords and 250,000 Civics in the US each year, compared with about 7,000 S2000s. Sales volume is not their priority for this car.

Damn, they've been selling about 250 NSXs in the US per year for many years without cancelling that car.

What's that line from the Matrix? Everything that has a beginning has an end.

The S2000 will end production sooner or later, but it won't be due to poor sales.
