The S2000 Would Be Perfect If...
It was a sequential manual transmission.
Sure the manual is nice, but I just reaklly love sequential manual transmissions!
Is anyone here with me?
Is there anyway Honda could make an S2000 with a sequential?
God I'd buy one then, even if it cost thousands more...

Sequential manual transmissions are not yet perfected. I have driven a BMW 530i with SMG, and I can assure you that the speed of shifting in ordinary low speed traffic is just Godawful slow. There are fairly noticeable delays in demand downshifting when you press the throttle hard, and it is very hard to 'creep' forward slowly in parking lot maneuvers with the SMG. With a manual tranny, you use the clutch for most of your speed control at creep speeds, while with an SMG it is all done with the throttle - extremely awkward. Believe me, you don't want a sequential manual gearbox for your S2K, at least not until the technology is perfected.
I think that a few very minor changes would make the S2K truly perfect. For one, how about having the passenger door unlock when you manually flip that little toggle to unlock the driver's door? For another, get rid of that knee-cracker door over the radio. I can't easily check the clock, since the door in the down position is hazardous to my health. Just about everything else is completely consistent with the S2K's concept. I could wish for a bigger trunk, but that is not consistent with the concept.
