s2000 year differences...
Hey!
I was in the market to buy an s2000 for about a month now and I have finally found one that suited my needs! (2k1 with 34k miles)... The only problem is that the 2k2 version offers a rear glass window and all this other nice upgrades...
Is it worth it to just hold out and go for the 2k2? Tommorow (sat9/17) I will go to the dealer again to see how they did with the cleaning (When I saw it I thought it was unbelievably dirty) and pretty much make my final choice on whether or not I want to get it...
Right now I'm stuck without a car and I really need one to get to work (I start my new job monday btw) and although I can just buy a beater $1k car and wait for a 2k2 to pop up... I really don't like the idea... Should I just... Go for the 2k1?
On another note... Today when I went to the dealer the guages were so nice... (Compared to all the other cars I've driven)... It's like a dream
And the push button start... Yum ;p
The dealer offered 24k and then went down to 22k and is still going down (Asked me what it would take for me to buy it now... lol I said 18k) but I think I can get him down to 20k if I try hard enough
Thanks...
Edit- Also... When he started the car it was idling at 2k RPMs... I asked him and he said that the car wasn't warm enough yet... But I have never seen a car idling at 2k rpms EVER!... Is that normal? (It did go back to around 1.2k RPMs before we turned it off)...

19,000 would be a good price to pay. The idle will settle down once it warms up a little. I feel the glass window is probably a little better, at least you can always see out of it. Good luck.
19k? Wow it was so hard to talk them down to 22k from 24k....
I really have no barter skills... Any tips? lol
Edit-
They pulled the KBB on me and showed me 24k
I pulled the MSN on them and showed them 20k...
19k?! lol
Btw it was only one owner (I havn't got it carfaxed yet)

plastic window is fine, mine looks great and plus side is more view than the glass window. Just spend a lil extra time cleaning her and itll look great
I say go for it man, in my area North West 21-22k is the average price for s2ks with that mielage.

Yeah I noticed the fast warmup ;p
Anyways I live in northwest too... Specifically Seattle (Yum rain)
I was wondering how hard it is to keep the plastic thing clean? So far I've had bad experiences with plastic windows... Like my friend's jeep has so many scratches and rips in them its not even funny... And I noticed how when the top goes down it folds the plastic window in half possibly causing creases?
o.O
If you scratch it... Can you buff it out? ;p
And is it noisier then glass?

yeh today #!@@!@! rained hard, I'm in the 253. Finding an s2k in the NW is a bitch....Spent several months trying to find a good price and a good s2k.
Not to hard, yella feva only cleans his twice a year, I clean every other time I use it. There are tons of cleanres which hide the the fine scartches but againnot noticable at all. Plastic window is a small issue, just make sure you find an s2k which drives good shifts and sounds good
Looks liek you got compeition with martin for the same price range
