from what I've been hearing it hasn't just been s2000's going up in value but the used car market in general because the economy's supposedly picking up.
This is true.. Almost all used cars have gone up in value. My S2000 is worth almost 2000 more then what i paid for it 2 years ago. Same with my friends Mini Cooper his went up in value as well. I checked my DD corolla even that went up in value by a grand. I Don't think S2000's will ever be worth big bucks but, if you keep the mileage low and, mostly stock they will hold there value very well.

Ditto, I've noticed my car's value has increased from when I bought it, even with adding mileage.

I've had my car for 1 year and 2 weeks now

When I bought it last March 31st, 2010, the price for my MY05 with 33k in excellent condition was 17,600

1 year later, my 05 with 45k is valued at 18,600
1 year later, if I put in the original mileage of 33k, it's valued at 19,500

almost 2k in appreciation
wow

Same exact situation as you except mine is an 04 and noticed the same value increase. Wow!

i wonder if it'll end up like the supra... a clean low mileage 94 turbo still goes for about 35-40k... hopefully the S2k cant reach that status

My guess is that the economy is not going up its just an illusion.

The reason that the used car market is going up is because fewer and fewer folk do not have the resources to buy new. Credit is maxed out, house values in the toilet so what choice is there but to buy used. Lots of upward pressure because of demand.

I don't think the S2000 will ever drop in value. Its as close to perfection as you can get for the money. The only way its going to happen is if the car is beaten to within an inch of its life...
