If you wait for years, there will be more value. Read through the forums and you see more unfortunate accidents like a recent post here where a careful driver rolled his s2k. Add to those all those "riders" who think they can improve the car with aftermarket eBay parts, and the day is soon coming when a CLEAN, STOCK, LOW MILEAGE s2k will bring top value.

If that's the case, then I got mine for way below value. Mine was supposedly appraised @ 20k, but I paid 16k.

This is partly why I am keeping mine 100% stock and clean.

It's kind of funny. You go on any car forum online, and people will say the same things you all are saying about the S2K about other cars. The truth is, everyone thinks they are driving the next Supra or NSX, but in reality no one knows. Just enjoy your cars.

Good point. I personally have an appreciation for the naturally aspired s2000--"as is.” It seems my appreciation for a factory tuned s2000 works in my favor from a buyer’s value perspective.

I don't think whites are going to be as popular in 10 years as they are today. White today is a huge trend and it will pass. 10 years ago silver was the hot color, then 5 years ago it was black. Recently it's white. I wouldn't bet on white being hot for much longer, maybe another 3-5 years max.

Only time will tell. You may be right about the trends, but all things being equal, rare things are more highly sought after, and when it comes to an S2k paint color in the USDM, GPW is about as rare as they get. I think Apex blue would be the only color of which there were less produced, but consider that it was only used on the CR and there were even less CR's made in GPW than Apex Blue.

whoa, they did go up within the last year on KBB

I've had my car for 1 year and 2 weeks now

When I bought it last March 31st, 2010, the price for my MY05 with 33k in excellent condition was 17,600

1 year later, my 05 with 45k is valued at 18,600
1 year later, if I put in the original mileage of 33k, it's valued at 19,500

almost 2k in appreciation
wow
