I have heard they are bringing Suzuka Blue w/blue interior and a new silver. I also read they were bring six new colors which I don't believe but, this is the internet what are you supposed to believe? I really hope they add the glass window, my jeep plastic is so hard to take care of. Honda has not updated the web site and I have heard that the 02' are going to be out in Sept.-Oct..

Do any of you have hard tops? I think that would make it alot easier to drive everyday.

Absolutely ... I'm not one of them ... but yes, there are lots of people who have regreted buying an s2k ... some of the reasons seem to be ...

1) Lack of creature comforts / too loud ... seemed minor in the test drive ... but over time owner just couldn't put up with it
2) Lack of torque ... so the engine has very little power at low RPMs ... people seem to expect to be able to launch it like their old Mustang GT and beat Mustang GTs ... well, you can't ... you have to re-learn how to launch and when to shift with the s2k ... some people just can't seem to re-learn old habits
3) It's no longer brand-new / exclusive / rare and they're on to the next thing ...
4) Handles very differently from that FWD car they learned in ... the first time you slip your rear end out doing something that would be just fine in a FWD car can be VERY un-nerving ... take a driving course

I am happy to drive my s2k every day ... and a bit perturbed when I can't (the wife has it, I'm on vacation, or I have too many house-chores) ... as with any car though, there are going to be some people who buy it and don't like it ... however the s2k seems to get more extreme responses than most cars (people either love it or hate it)

Have fun,
Derek

Iceman, do you drive yours everyday? I have a 93' Civic sedan w/ a turbo, was it a big step to make that kind of change? Does anyone know where I can get info on a 02'?
Yes I daily drive my S2000, and compared to my old GSR, its wayyy more refined. My old car was lowered with race springs and VERY stiff shocks along with 17" Racing Hart C2's and 40 series tires. The stock ride in the S2000 is nearly perfect, stiff but never jarring, something I can never seem to get right in the Teg.

Let me say there's NOTHING like ending a rough day at work with the top down!

Glass rear window: Highest quality rumor (pics available, but no guarantee it will come to the US market).

New Colors: Suzuka Blue, Sebring Silver

Daily driver: Yes!

I honestly don't think that the vehicle will drastically change a year or two a part.. You'd be gaining in any year you choose.. I guess the only thing would be possible insurance reduction for a later model ?

We will never get all the cool JDM stuff. I saw a picture the other day of a JDM S2000 Indy yellow w/red leather, it was awesome. I wonder will you be able to get a blue top?

Ticketflipper, I noticed your location is: LKQ TN Is that in Tenn.?
I live in north Alabama and have owned my S since Feb 29, 2001. Currently have 8991 miles on it. Drive it every day. Even drive it on business trips when I could fly if I wanted. It's a great car. Even a HONDA!
If you live in TN, why would you want the hard top?
Nothing better than dropping the top in the winter on a sunny day and cranking up the heater.
Spend some time searching this site and you should find answers to all of your questions. I did.
Send me a PM if you have any other questions.
Get one and ENJOY!!!!
