Wait for the AP1 vs AP2 flaming.. I think there is a thread somewhere on this. From experience I'd take the AP2 over the AP1 any day, just what I prefer. btw over here and in the UK and Japan we got to keep the AP1 redline and gained the AP2 refinements. So this may be why. I'm also MY06, DBW. Some say here that MY05 is the preferred as it doesn't come with the traction control (DBW ).
I'd say go drive a few AP1 & 2's , least it'll give you more info to be able to decide. Then again depends entirely what deals you come across. Glw your return.
I dont know. This may be the first ap2 vs ap1 thread.
lol ....it all depends on the car you find IMO a clean S is a sold S if I find it ...there is no such thing as a better S2k they all kick ass like no other car built in the history of motoring ...less we not forget that, I cared for S is what you want period AP #whothehellcares... its S2k ...now go shopping and buy the best example your $$$ will allow you ...best of luck on your search .

This is a very common topic. We can't tell you -- especially when you don't provide any info that might help us to suggest one over the other. Even if you did, it still boils down to experiencing both and selecting the one that suits you best. You can certainly refer to countless prior AP1 versus AP2 threads, if desired.

[quote name='NNY S2k' timestamp='1381766806' post='22826761'] I thought Suzuka blue wasn't available in the states till 02.

Oh my bad it was an 02, I don't know why I put 01. Even in my profile it says 2002.
I figured it was either a typo or a repaint.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll do. I've owned an AP1, but haven't been behind the wheel of an s2k since she got totalled, but it'll be like riding a bike, you never forget and you fall in love all over again. A friend of mine awhile back had an AP2, and he sat in mine and said it felt like it was smaller, width wise. I know I can do research, but I'm not fully aware if there was a difference if any in the wheelbase or width of the chassis being any longer or slightly wider....

Chassis size never changed. Seats changed so that may be what he is referring too.

I remember reading something about the door cards being different enough to create more cabin space, though this is marginal, it seems to be enough to do the trick. Everything else is the same.
