For Strike.

Let me clarify, it is easy to spin the S, if you do not know how to drive a RWD vehicle. It is easy to spin any RWD car. Especially if you are not an expierienced driver.

I have to say driver error is a big part of all accidents.

I am sorry my comment scared you about saying it is easy to spin the S. Well it is easy if you the conditions are all against you and you do make a bad judgment call. It is easy to be stupid in any vehicle. For example, I have had three accidents in the past 18 months, a lady pulled in front of me, a guy ran a red light and totalled my car and the last one unfortunately was with my S when I was going 15 miles per hour and a little ol' lady pulled through the intersection. All of these not my fault. Bad judgment is everywhere.

I love my S and think the world of it, but I now know the car's limits and everyday I drive it and when drive it hard and fast, I am taking a risk. The poor dude who posted the first thread has lost a beautiful car, but he has walked away with his life and a lesson. And my comment that the S is a solid little car rings true.

P.S. for the guy who made the comment that the S doesn't slide on Ice....all cars slide on ice! That is one down fall of the S.....and all rwd cars, they suck in the snow!

That's not too smart. And as stated before..

It's not the driver that causes the car to spin..
It's whichever wheel catches ANY kind of traction first..

chuck, my car's running great thanks. i never thought the car would actually be better after such major work so that's a plus. it was, however, a big financial hit for me. my only complaint right now are the fresh set of kumho MXs i put on the car are starting to show a lot of wear in the rear, and summer hasn't even started yet an article on vehicle dynamics sounds like a good idea, or even links to other websites for this kind of information would help. i'm sure some kind of RWD primer would be of benefit to some people.

chazmo, i really enjoyed your post as there's so much correlation between what you wrote and my experiences with this car.

Maybe not, but that kind of hubris is a recipe for disaster.

You know what I think?

tek, if you keep thinking like this i kid you not darwin will come get you bro. if you wanna be a better driver, heck a better person, you have to critique yourself first, analyze what you've done wrong so you can improve on it and not make the same mistake again. inanimate objects don't destroy themselves. i'm a firm believer that most, if not all driving related accidents have a significant amount of driver fault to them. in the spinning case you're talking about, if the conditions i was driving in was very slick making it very easy to slide the car i would be driving VERY VERY slowly in the first place to minimize the chance of spinning uncontrollably

on a side note

honestly, if i ed up i would appreciate the fact that people on this board are telling me i really did up instead of having to hear stuff like "oh poor boy, s02s suck for slippery conditions so it's not your fault for smashing it up". this really doesn't help me live longer. it seems like the criticism some members are giving you is blowing RIGHT over your head...
