Default S2K to CR-Z...anyone else?

So I'm commuting about 100 miles a day now and the s2k is getting pretty expensive to operate..

I was thinking about converting my CRX to electric or plug in hybrid. Untill I noticed that the CR-Z is around the corner. Anyone else thinking about purchasing one?

I want to stack some more batteries in it and get the system like they use in the older insights to control the IMA to always on and forget about the gas station!

no, because buying a CR-Z is like telling the general public that you are extremely blind and have no taste.

it's like owning an Aztek. I avoid those cars cause I'm pretty sure the owners can't see very far, which explains why they would buy such a hideous automobile.

Likewise, I will be keeping my distance from CR-Z owners, cause most of them will likely be blind and mentally deficient.

But, that's just my opinion.

i agree, i like the concept, but it is just so damn hideous...at this point i am leaning towards the 2k down 199/month prius option for a commuter car.

I'm leasing one when it becomes available. Ordered a Black EX 6MT. It's going to make an interesting daily. I've considered a Fit, but the CRZ will lease better and for at least a little while will be somewhat unique and entertaining.

I've seen a few "tuned" ones and they look pretty sharp, but I will unlikely mess with any powertrain parts.

... that's actually a GREAT idea!

Considering how cheap the Yaris is... and the crazy gas mileage it gets...
plus, the yaris is only like 2300lbs, 106hp... it's closer to the original CRX more than the CRZ is.

the CRZ is 140hp, at 2700lbs... and the same MPG as the yaris.

I'm willing to bet the Yaris is faster around a race track than a CR-Z is... and maybe quicker to 60mph too.

and this guy lowered his yaris and looks pretty good:
