Thanks fellas, I've dropped my car off at the dealership this morning to have them professionally install it. I hope they don't spend over 2 hours to install it.

The hardtop is a great deal. My mother has a Miata, and the hardtop is idential to the Hondas. It's similar in looks, but I mean in features and product...

Can one install the mounting pieces by theirself? I think they're called "installation kits" or something?

Got yet another newbie to s2000 question.

The hardtop....can it be removed fairly easily. For example, if I were at home, saw it was a great day, how easy is it to get the top off?

Who al makes hardtops? OEM HONDA I know, who else? Mugen? I've heard of a cf hardtop (not that I'm interested but would like to see one).
I think it depends on how you store your hartop too. I have one for my '01 that my husband made a hoist for in the garage. I could put it on and off myself but I won't. I don't want to risk scratching or denting my car.

I now have an 11 day old '05 Suzuka Blue too, and we ordered the hardtop but won't get it until around December. Same thing goes for it. It will be hoisted up in the gargage for storage and my husband will install the kit on my car for it. It's not easy but if you are mechanical it isn't too bad.

We went for OEM both times.

When I got my '05 Suzuka, I paid for the hardtop too. (on Nov. 6, 2004) I was told that there are Suzukas hardtops available but not the other colors. My seller, Matt Piercey at Honda World in Westminster, said the other colors would not be produced until they got a bunch of orders. I don't know if this is right or not but it's what I heard.

Hmmmm, not sure if I'm on board with this one. It is well known that Honda over-produced certain colors and are trying to get rid of them. Hardtopguy had (and may still have) these colors at "blow out" prices. Unless something has changed significantly with the way the HT attaches to the cars for '05, colors for "previous" years will fit. If it's the same color code, then I can't imagine that they are waiting specifically for enough of the same color of '05s before ordering. The only differences come in the mounting kits. I suppose it's possible that Honda only produces a given color (regardless of MY) when enough have been ordered.

The reason for Honda US being out of tops is because of a fire at the plant that produces them in Japan. There is no mystery here or waiting for certain amount of orders before producing them.
